The 2022 Dodge Challenger is fast, it’s exciting, and it’s a massive muscle car that will take you down the strip faster than any other car you can find. The Challenger is a muscle car that brings you more power for the money than any other car you can find. That translates to a whole lot of fun for not a lot of cash.
Even though this amazing car is one that’s been around for several years, the 2022 version does bring you some amazing improvements to make it a car that has more for the fun you’re after on any road or track. Let’s take a look at some of those upgrades for the latest model year.
A Quick Peek into What You’ll Find
Every year the vehicles we love are improved and offer us more performance elements, better technology, and improved packages. The 2022 Dodge Challenger adds:
- Upgraded alarm system standard in the upper trims
- New alarm optional for lower trims
- Jailbreak power and cosmetics package
- SRT Black package
- Hemi Orange appearance package
Will any of these upgrades make it into the Challenger that you want to drive and show off every day?
Three Modes for the Upgraded Alarm System
The alarm system offered for the Challenger is called the Deluxe Security Alarm. This safety feature has three different modes to keep your vehicle safe when you get ready for a drive. Let’s take a look at all three functions.
Enhanced Security Function
This feature allows you to input a four-digit code into the radio head unit to temporarily reduce the speed of the car to less than three mph. This will allow you to avoid your car being taken away when you park it, go in for dinner, or spend a few hours shopping.
Key Programming Lockdown
Additional keys for your Dodge Challenger cannot be produced when this feature is enabled. Many thieves have the technical capabilities to make new keys for a variety of cars, but with this feature, only the keys issued to you when you bought the car will make it work.
That also means you must keep track of your keys.
Intrusion Module
If a window is broken, the car is being illegally towed, or a person reaches their hand through the window, the alarm will begin to sound off. This is part of the system that helps avoid physical theft of the vehicle and harm you while you’re inside.
Choose the Jailbreak Package for a Special Dodge
The 2022 version of the Dodge Challenger can be had with the new Jailbreak package. This is available as part of the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody build, making it an even more unique car than the Redeye model already is. You’ll have the personalization options you desire when this package is selected.
These items include the choice of seven wheel options, six exterior stripe colors, six brake caliper colors, five different seats, and five different finishes to the exterior badges.
You’ll also find four steering wheel choices, seat belt colors, and floor mat styles to choose from.
This package also gives you the most powerful engine for this Dodge car, making sure you can have 807 horsepower when you’re ready for a Jailbreak at the track.
Maybe You Should Try on the SRT Black Package
We’ve seen this theme with several other models from a wide variety of automakers. The SRT Black package will give you a car that features some incredible exterior black elements to offer a more dramatic look to your muscle car. This package features glossy black badges, wheels, and black nickel exhaust tips.
This package is only offered for the SRT Hellcat and Redeye models, giving you the added drama you want in this amazing muscle car.
Add a Little Nostalgia with the Hemi Orange Package
The original Hemi engines that made the Dodge name popular during the muscle car era were painted bright orange. When superchargers and blowers stood tall out of the center of the hood, the orange paint of the engine shown in the light was difficult to miss.
The new Hemi Orange package for the Dodge Challenger is a tribute to the time when these engines were painted in an orange hue. This package adds an orange accent strip to the gunmetal stripes that are already part of the package. You’ll also see orange outlines for the badges and orange Brembo brake calipers for the Scat Pack Widebody models. This package is available for the GT RWD models and the Scat Pack Widebody versions of the Challenger.
Let’s Talk Power
There are six different ways you can have the power you want in the Dodge Challenger. Not all of the models offered will have some of the new elements for 2022, but that might not matter when you’re ready to drive this incredible speed demon on the track.
The six power options are:
- SXT/GT – 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, 303 horsepower, 268 lb.-ft. of torque
- R/T – 5.7-liter Hemi V8, 372 horsepower, 375 lb.-ft. of torque
- R/T Scat Pack – 6.4-liter Hemi V8 , 485 horsepower, 475 lb.-ft. of torque
- SRT Hellcat – 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8, 717 horsepower, 656 lb.-ft. of torque
- SRT Hellcat Redeye – 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8, 797 horsepower, 707 lb.-ft. of torque
