Rearview Mirror: Stock Performance from the Auto Industry 7/26-7/30

Toyota Motor Corp. (TM)

Last week, we saw Toyota start at $179.04, and then it made a strong move upward on Thursday to reach a weekly high point at $181.85. After this, Toyota began to slowly move downward, but if you look at the total performance for the week, you’ll find that this stock would have made you some money. The final closing price came in at $179.84 which was reasonable.

General Motors (GM)

General Motors was on its way to a negative stock performance for the week when it started out. The price began at$55.68 and moved quickly down to reach a weekly low on Wednesday. This low price came in at $54.73 before the price moved back upward. This stock rose fast on Thursday and hit a weekly high at $57.72 on Friday. The final closing price for GM came in at$%6.84.

Nio Inc. (NIO)

If you’re following along with how Nio Inc. is doing, you saw this stock begin last week at $40.41 and watched it move upward all week long. The price of this stock made its way to $45.01, which was the highest price of the week for this company. The price leveled off and found its way to $44.68 as the closing price for Nio at the end of the week.

Ferrari (RACE)

We saw Ferrari race to a strong performance last week. If this is one of the stocks you’re interested in, you ended the week with a smile on your face. The starting price was $210.41, and it moved upward quickly. The high mark was reached on Friday at $219.13 before closing the week at a price of $218.97. If you’re watching the stock performance, Ferrari gave you what you wanted last week.

Honda Motor Co. (HMC)

We saw Honda begin last week at a price of $31.79, but this company quickly dropped down to the weekly low of $31.58. On Thursday, this stock jumped to its weekly high at a level of $32.43. Once this mark was reached, the price began to slowly move down to a closing level for the week at $32.11. XPeng Inc. (XPEV)

This Chinese company started at what was the low price for the week at $36.44 per share. If you’re interested in the stock performance of XPeng Inc., you’ll be happy to learn that it moved upward all week long to give you a strong profit at the end of the week. The high mark came on Friday at $41.93 before it closed the week at $40.53, which was a profit you could certainly enjoy.

Ford (F)

Ford was one of the few of the stocks we follow that was up and down in dramatic fashion last week. The price began at $13.88 per share before moving down to $13.59. After this mark, the stock rocketed upward and reached its high mark at the beginning of Thursday at $14.70. The price moved down almost as fast as it rose and reached a closing price of $13.95 on Friday.

Magna International Inc. (MGA)

Magna is the auto supplier that we follow every week. The stock performance of this company gave us a starting price last week of $81.97, which quickly moved downward. This stock reached a low point of $81.21.The high point was met on Friday when this stock hit $84.73 before it found its closing mark at $83.83. If you’re invested in Magna, you were pleased with the profits this stock made last week.

CarMax Inc. (KMX)

CarMax is the only stock on this list that didn’t make profits last week. In fact, it began the week at its high mark of $136.53 and then moved quickly down to a low point for the week. This mark was reached on Thursday at $133.28. The stock price rebounded a little, and the final closing price for the week came in at $133.95 and was the only one to finish the week at a loss.
