The 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X Edition 1 Selling Fast

You can build and price your 2023 GMC Canyon now, but the 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X Edition 1 just sold out in less than ten minutes. The Canyon is now in its all-new third generation, and the AT4X trim level is among the many new updates. The AT4X Edition 1 is the highlight of this release with a limited run.

Order Books Opened Last August

That amazing sales insight was recently provided by the Global Vice President of Buick, GMC, and GMC EV Hummer EV. During a recent meeting with the media, the Global VP mentioned that the 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X Edition 1 sold out in only ten minutes. Order books for this vehicle opened last August when it debuted. GM did not mention how many units of this special edition Canyon will be produced. It is an exclusive package, however.

For those who don’t know, the Canyon AT4X is an upgraded off-road trim that was just introduced for the Canyon’s third generation. It includes a one-inch lift compared to the other Canyon trims as well as 33-inch MT tires and underbody skid plates.

2023 GMC Canyon AT4X Edition 1 Extras

The AT4X Edition 1 model has even more extras than the regular Canyon AT4X model. It includes a COMEUP winch, an accessory switch kit, a performance front skid plate, an off-road bumper with a Safari bar, and a 30-inch off-road grille light bar, among many other cool upgrades. All Canyon models are powered by a turbocharged 2.7-liter inline-four gas engine.

The 2023 GMC Canyon went into production last month and the new AT4X trim will roll off the assembly line in the spring. Production of the AT4X Canyon is expected to start on April 10th. The special edition is priced at $66,290. The regular AT4X is priced at $56,995 before the addition of any options. The build and price configuration model on the GMC site can give you more precise prices.

Canyon Third Generation

Compared to the previous generation, the third generation of the GMC Canyon only offers one engine choice in the 2.7-liter mentioned above. The previous generation offered a turbodiesel engine, a 3.6-liter V6, and a 2.4-liter inline-four engine. You can choose from three trims of the GMC Canyon besides the AT4X, including the Elevation, AT4, and the Denali. The new Canyon features revised exterior dimensions. It is both wider and taller than the previous generation.

The base model Canyon Elevation is available with RWD, but the other trims come standard with 4WD. The AT4 and Elevation trims come with an eight-inch display, while the Denali and AT4X trims are upgraded to an 11-inch display.

You can expect the new Canyon models to hit dealerships in the near future as production gets underway in GM’s Wentzville plant in Missouri.
