The Latest Ken Block Exploits and a Look at His Collection

Ken Block recently hit the Las Vegas strip in his electric Audi S1 Hoonitron EV, which makes us want to review his collection of amazing cars.

For Block to perform the amazing driving he does in the video below, the Vegas strip had to be closed, which happens often wherever he and his team go. The cars are pretty awesome, but the man behind the wheel is a truly incredible driver. Block drifts around a boxing ring on top of a car park and hits some punching bags during the run. You can enjoy the video, but first, let’s talk more about his collection of amazing vehicles.

2013 Block S Tyle Ford Focus ST

One of the most subdued of the cars in the collection is the 2013 Block S Tyle Ford Focus ST. This car doesn’t shout an over-the-top personality like other cars on the list, but it is uniquely made for Ken. This car was only made in three versions and styled by Fiteen52 as part of the Project ST program in 2012. This is a great way to begin the amazing list.

2017 Ford F-150 Raptor

The name didn’t get changed to fit Ken Block and his Hoonigan team, but it certainly is an incredible pickup that can offer some amazing style and performance wherever it goes. Could this be the truck that Block uses when he needs to haul cars to and from drift locations? Maybe. While relatively tame among the collection, this Raptor does have a long-travel suspension, a set of two-piece forged Turbomac HD wheels, and Toyo Open Country tires. This is a truck that looks mean and certainly can be.

2015 Ford Fiesta R2

Block sure likes his Ford cars, and this little Fiesta already comes with a name that means party. This Fiesta wasn’t used in the Gymkhana videos, but it was M-Sport’s first global rally car. This car wasn’t driven by Ken at all,\ but by his wife, Lucy Block. The power for this little car comes from a peppy 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine that pumps out 177 horsepower while using a five-speed sequential gearbox. This might not be the most recognizable car on the list, but it has plenty of Block racing lineage to be part of the mix.

2009 Subaru Impreza WRX STI from Gymkhana 2

One of the most highly recognizable Ken Block cars in the collection is this Subaru WRX STI. This amazing rally car brings a strong turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that pumps out 566 horsepower and 611 lb-ft of torque. It might not be that different from an earlier Block car, but it was certainly one of the most iconic and absolutely belongs on our list.

2011 Ford Fiesta GYM3 from Gymkhana 3

It might be a small car, but this Fiesta became incredibly recognizable and packed with performance goodies when the Hoonigan team got hold of it. This small For uses an Olsbergs 2.0-liter Duratec engine to produce 600 horsepower and 660 lb-ft of torque. Thankfully, only the right person drives this amazing car and uses an excellent six-speed sequential gearbox. This Fiesta has AWD and is one of the most recognizable cars in the collection, even though the livery has changed several times since it was first made. It returned to its original style with the Monster Energy scheme in 2015.

2006 Subaru WRX STI from Gymkhana 1

The original, the classic, and the car that Ken Block used in his first Gymkhana video is the Subaru Impreza WRX STI. This car was built by Vermont SportsCar and uses the flat-four engine, which was tuned up to produce 565 horsepower. This car was light and quick at only 2,775 pounds. Other than the first Gymkhana video, this incredible rally car was used extensively during Gumball 3000, but it is most popular as the first of the Gymkhana collection.

1974 Ford Bronco

Here we have a restomod version of an early Ford Bronco, which is a great after-work vehicle that can be a lot of fun on any trail. This 1974 Ford Bronco is a serious departure from the rest of the models on the list. This impressive SUV was built by NSB Performance in Edgewater, Florida, to be a lot of fun when taken out for a spin. This Bronco uses a 5.0-liter V8 engine and six-speed automatic transmission to produce 435 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque.

2015 Fiesta ST RX43 featured in Gymkhana 6 and 8

This amazing Ken Block car showed up in two of his Gymkhana videos. This little Fiesta was made by M-Sport specifically to be the rallycross car for 2013. The hot hatch brought 600 horsepower to the track for the Gymkhana 6 showcase. This is a car that can hit 60 mph in two seconds, and it looks amazingly cool as well. There was a replica built called RX43B, which was used for the FIA World Rallycross while the original was in the Global Rallycross circuit in 2014 and 2015.

1978 Ford Escort MK2 RS

The first RWD Gymkhana-spec vehicle is this 1978 Ford Escort MK2 RS which was featured in 2015. This car showed up among the sea of AWD Focus and Fiesta hatchbacks to be a car that gave Ken some natural power at the wheels. This Escort used a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 333 horsepower. This car was raced at the Rally New York in 2009, but it’s mostly used for show and drifting videos.

1977 Ford F-150 Hoonitruck featured in Gymkhana 10

What happens when you lower a truck and let Ken Block drive it, you get an amazing truck that is donned the Hoonitruck. This amazing F-150 produced an incredible 941 horsepower from a turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine. The body of this pickup was made of hand-shaped aluminum and put the power to the ground from an AWD system. The truck showed up at SEMA to show off what the Hoonigan team was working on before it appeared in the Gymkhana 10 video.

These ten vehicles are an amazing part of the Ken Block collection. Now, onto the promised video from his run on the Vegas Strip.
