Is the Acura Integra Returning?

The Acura Integra is back. At least, that’s what the vice president of Acura, Jon Ikeda, said in a recent statement.

The announcement was first made via a statement to a group of journalists at the Monterey Car Week event. Soon after the announcement was made, a teacher video made its way to Instagram. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, as it should be for this amazing nameplate of old.

A Brief History of The Acura Integra

The original Integra was originally sold under the Honda name but soon became part of Honda’s luxury division, Acura. This four-door sedan or hatchback made its debut in 1986 and ran a successful production until 2001 when it took o the name“Acura RSX.”The Integra was a well-received car. It even made Car and Driver’s list of Ten Best Cars six times in the late 80s and 90s. The RSX model made the list in 2002 and 2003. This vehicle was finally retired in 2006.

As of today, it’s unlikely that you’ll run across many Integra or RSX vehicles on the road. There are quite a few new drivers who weren’t even born or weren’t out of diapers when this car was discontinued. That’s what makes its return so much more exciting. An entirely new generation of drivers will get to see what this iconic car can do.

What To Expect

There isn’t a great deal of information available about the return of the Acura Integra just yet. Most experts imagine that the Integra will share a number of elements with the 2022 Honda Civic. That means you can expect to have a joy-ride machine that’s fun to drive even at its most base level.

There’s reason to believe that the fresh version of this car will stay true to the look and style of the previous versions. The design is locked in, but it’s not entirely known. What we do know is that the Integra will take place as the intro to the Acura lineup.

One area that Acura has been vocal about is the design of the headlights. This design will be accented by the word “Integra” scripted below the lenses. That is an obvious callback to previous generations of the Acura Integra brand.

Keep An Eye Out For More News

Details on the 2022 Acura Integra should be released in the near future. Drivers everywhere are excited to explore this callback to a classic. The Integra was always a popular and affordable ride, so it should draw some attention right away.

With Acura’s renewed focus on performance, technology, and style, the Integra might just be one of the best things to hit the road in quite some time. Whether it builds the excitement that it had during its previous years on the market is yet to be seen.

Keep an eye out for more information. The new Acura Integra is coming, and it will be here sooner than you think.
