As we look toward the end of the second quarter of the year, we look to see how our auto stock companies have performed last week.
Many of the companies have been up and down all quarter long and this will be the final look at a weekly mix of companies before we take our final quarterly review of the companies.
Toyota Motor Corp. (TM)
One of the most trustworthy auto stock companies in the market has been Toyota. This stock began last week at $179.41 before falling off a cliff to the weekly low on Wednesday. At this point, the price dropped to $176.85 before starting its recovery. The high point for the rest of the week was reached at $178.70 on Friday before this stock closed for the week at $178.16 giving investors a little hope.
Honda Motor Co. (HMC)
Honda took a path that was much different from Toyota. HMC began last week at a price of $31.69 before finding a slight drop to the weekly low on Wednesday when the price hit $31.50. After this, not only did Honda recover but it moved steadily upward to reach the weekly high price at the same time the closing bell was sounded. This closing price came in at $32.55 which gave Honda stockholders a nice profit for the week.
General Motors (GM)
A steadier path was found for the General Motors stock than for the previous two on this list. The price started at $59.10 and moved upward from this mark. As the price moved throughout the week, we never saw GM drop back down to this starting point. The high point was reached near the end of Friday at $60.52 which then settled a little to the closing mart at $60.30.
Workhorse Group (WKHS)
One auto stock that stayed relatively flat all week was Workhorse Group. This stock started the week at $14.67 and moved up a little through Wednesday and Thursday to reach $16.18. After this point, the price slowly settled down to bring you to the closing bell at a price that gave investors a bit of a profit for the week. The final price came in at $15.61, which offered profits for investors.
BYD Co. Ltd. (BYDDF)
In a stairstep pattern, this auto stock found its way upward all week long. The price of BYD began the week at $28.79 before it made a significant movement upward at the beginning of Wednesday. This daily open was at $29.60 which was also the high mark for the week. During the rest of the week, the price settled down and gave us a consistent price to the closing mark of $29.45.
GreenPower Motor Co. (GP)
GreenPower took a much different path than the other stocks we’ve been reviewing. The price started last week at $18.30 and the movement of the price was one of the choppiest of the stock market. The high mark was hit on Wednesday at $19.03 and then it moved back down toward the end of the week. The low mark was reached on Friday at $17.54 before closing the week at $18.00.
NIO Inc. (NIO)
To begin last week, the NIO auto stock came in at $46.34 before it dropped down to the low price of the week on Tuesday at $43.92. The high point of the week was hit at the start of Thursday at $46.51 before the price settled back down to find its way to the end of the week. The closing bell sounded on Friday and NIO was priced at $45.07 per share.
First Trust NASDAQ Global Auto Index Fund (CARZ)
If you’ve been following CARZ along with us, you’ll see that this stock began last week at $61.29, dropped quickly to the weekly low at $60.49 before heading back upward. The highest mark for this auto stock was found at $62.12 on Friday shortly after opening. The closing price at the end of the week came in at $61.64, which gave investors some profits for the week.
