When you see the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback you might think of this car as a complete model that you don’t need to change or do much at all to enjoy. This car is attractive, enticing, fun to drive, and it brings you the powertrain that’s perfect for the ride. You can enjoy a six-speed manual transmission with rev-matching to give you the power level you want and experience the quality of the multilink rear suspension. With all that the Corolla hatchback offers, you might not think Toyota would take it farther, but they did.
Sportier Performance in the Corolla
The Toyota team recently announced the addition of the GR Sport model of the Corolla Hatchback. This new model of the car brings you the benefits of lower body styling, a black mesh grill, a rear diffuser, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, fog lights, and rear privacy glass. There’s a color that’s exclusive to this car which is Dynamic Gray paint which is offered as a two-tone treatment with a black upper body area. These features and the looks make this a car that can be a lot of fun for you to have the ride you want on the road.
Going Inside the Corolla Hatchback GR Sport
When you get inside this little car, you’ll find bucket seats that are more aggressive in their style and make it easier for you to stay in your seat when you drive. These seats can be had in either cloth or leather with contrast stitching for the look you want. The rest of the interior is made to match the sportiness of the seats so that you can have a great drive in the Corolla that has the feeling and the qualities you want to enjoy when you drive.

Revealed at the Geneva Motor Show
The new GR Sport version of the Toyota Corolla Hatchback is being revealed at the Geneva Motor Show to give us a look at what this car will be when it arrives. This is a little car with the personality that we want to enjoy on the road. Unfortunately, much like the Yaris GR Sport, we won’t have the Corolla GR Sport in North America. This car is only slated to be offered in Europe to be a fun and active car that’s right for a drive around the area where it’s being sold.
Adding Insult to this Equation from Toyota
The North American market clamors for the SUVs that we love to drive, which is likely why we aren’t going to see the GR Sport models. The GR Sport treatments for the Corolla are also being added to the Touring Sports model which is a station wagon variation of the car, which we don’t see in the US at all. It’s likely, we need to convince Toyota that we want the fun and active qualities of the GR Sport models offered in the US, but that might take some time to make these choices offered in our market.
