At the heart of every vehicle is the engine. No other area of a car, truck, minivan, or SUV is as tuned up, engineered, or studied. The idea is to pull as much power or efficiency out of the engine as possible. Some engines are built to give us incredible power for the work we need to get done while others are made to sip only drops of fuel to make sure we can drive farther on less fuel. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the best engines for the new model year.

This big 6.2-liter V8 has a variable cylinder deactivation system to help save fuel and maximize the efficiency needed when you get behind the wheel. This brute makes 425 horsepower and 450 lb.-ft. of torque to give you the power and performance you want.

This version of the common engine excellent.
