The automotive market is showing a massive arrow pointing upward for the EV segment. This new-ish segment of the market is where most of the research is going with several brands to give us vehicles that use renewable electric power for the drive that we want to make every day. While EV models still face range issues when compared to their gasoline counterparts, the more variety we can find in the EV segment, the more we’re going to be likely to choose an electric model to have the drive desired. With this in mind, we look to China where the Chevy Bolt EV will be unveiled and offer us a different ride.
Expanding on the Chevy Bolt EV
The Chevy Bolt EV isn’t old by any standard, but the automotive industry is moving so quickly that this impressive little electric hatchback is already going to be upgraded. We currently see this model with a battery that gives you more range than in the past to give you more of what you want when you drive. The next version of this little car that will be offered is an SUV version which will be called a EUV or Electric Utility Vehicle, to give you the additional size you want and the drive you’re looking for.
China Will See it First
The new Chevy Bolt crossover is being shown in China this month and it will carry a different name in China than what it has in the US. The China version is going to be called the Chevy Menlo. When this little crossover makes it way to the US it will wear the name of Chevy Bolt EUV to give you the added room you want in an electric vehicle that has the drive that’s right.
The Things We Know
Right now, we don’t have the full specs of the new Chevy Menlo that will be offered in the Chinese market, but we do know what the dimensions are. This vehicle will be 183 inches long, 71.7 inches wide, 60.6 inches tall, and it will have a wheelbase of 104.7 inches. This height is enough to give the Chevy Bolt EUV three-inches of space over the height of the current version of the Chevy Bolt EV hatchback model. This means you’ll have the fun and active ride you want that sits a bit higher off the ground to give you the crossover driving feeling.
Items We Expect from Chevy
When the new Chevy Bolt EUV arrives on the market is expected to give us a powertrain that’s similar to the current Bolt. This means we should have 200 horsepower and 238 miles of range from the electric powertrain offered. We have to wait a bit longer for the new Bolt EUV to arrive in the US, but this vehicle will be here in the near future and it will give you the drive you want and the qualities you expect from Chevy, which is moving forward with the right electric vehicle for you.
