Recently, the 2019 version of the Jeep Renegade has been shown for the first time at the Torino Motor Show in Italy.
The only version shown so far is the European-spec model, which crossed the stage in Torino to give us a look at what this new SUV will be for the driving experience of the Jeep lovers around Europe. While we wait for this new version of the SUV to make its debut in the US, we’ve now received a look at what this vehicle will be when it arrives and is ready to be enjoyed on the road.
The model that made its way to the stage to the delight of the crowds in Torino is one that shows up with the halo LED headlights, a new version of the Jeep seven-slot grille, updated side view mirrors with integrated turn signals, new wheels, and redesigned taillights. These cosmetic upgrades give the new Renegade a look that’s more grown-up than what we’ve seen in the past with this SUV that seems to have been a bit cartoonish in its shape and style.
Will There be Changes to the Jeep Renegade Under the Hood?
This European model that will be offered for the 2019 model year receives an updated engine range to be able to give buyers more choices in how they want to have their small and active SUV powered. While we’re not sure if some of these new engines will make it to the North American market, it’s good to know that FCA has looked at the Renegade as an SUV that can be upgraded and offered with a variety of power choices to get you where you need to go. It’s likely this small SUV will eventually benefit from a hybrid powertrain as the company begins to add more hybrids to the market.
In North America, the current version of the Renegade is offered with a 1.4-liter MultiAir turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder engine. The addition of more choices could allow for an enjoyable ride for many. Right now the two transmissions, a six-speed manual, and a nine-speed automatic are expected to remain the only available choices for both the European and North American models as we move into the 2019 model year. With these small but necessary changes to this little SUV, the Renegade can continue forward as a vehicle that’s easy to drive.
Are you looking for the next compact SUV from Jeep and want to see what the next Renegade will have to offer? This new SUV will make its way across the stage later this year in order to be the one that you’re going to want to drive and experience when you’re ready to get out on the road and take a drive. When the specs are offered for the North American version of the Renegade, we’ll be sure to share them with you right away so that you can learn more about this incredible compact SUV.
