We think of the Ford Raptor as the sports car of trucks. If you want to do truck stuff on the trails, it’s the perfect truck to help you do everything you want. There could be new models offered soon, or Ford might be ready to work on a new model that would be the truck that you want to enjoy when you head out for some fun. The Raptor might become a truck that’s offered in more ways than it is right now, giving you the off-road features you want with the horsepower you need.
Different Powertrains for the Raptor
Currently, the Ford Raptor only uses one engine, which is shared with the Ford F-150 Limited model, to give you the power you want when you take this truck out for a ride in the desert or on the trails in your area. Future models of the Raptor could have three different engines offered including the base engine of the F-150 which is a 3.3-liter V6 that makes 290 horsepower, the current 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine, and a 5.0-liter V8 that could give you 395 horsepower. This might be a choice you can make to have the Raptor you want to drive.

There’s no denying the fact that the F-150 Raptor is an amazing truck that can get a lot done. This truck is tough, rugged, fast, and gorgeous. The Raptor has been around for more than two generations of the Ford F-150 to be the top choice when you want off-road performance and fun for your driving pleasure. The main truck, the Ford F-150 is preparing for a complete upgrade, and so too is the Raptor model. This means we’ll likely see a completely new version of this truck for the fun you want on the trails.
An Edgy Look to the Raptor
A rendering done by artist Mo Aoun gives us a view of a Ford Raptor that is edgy and sharp to give us the look that we want in a tough and rugged truck. The depictions given show us a generous amount of body cladding, rails in the bed to give us handles and a place to tie things one, and large FORD lettering in the grille. With a set of boomerang-shaped headlights and the classic Raptor stance, you could certainly enjoy driving the truck that Aoun came up with.
What Will Ford Offer?
We might see the design by the artist brought to life or we could see the Ford team go in a completely different direction. One of the most intriguing factors in what we might have with the new Ford Raptor is the use of multiple engines for power. Previous models only gave us one engine for the drive, which meant we had to go to that level in order to enjoy the Raptor. More powertrains could mean several price levels and a more accessible Ford Raptor to give us the fun we’re looking for when we head out for some off-road fun.
