Sports Car Coming To Hyundai Lineup

Sports Car Coming To Hyundai Lineup

The launch of the new Hyundai sub-brand, called “N”, which will be a sports car, will give us added performance features for several of the Hyundai models for the future. In the US, the first model to wear this badge will be the Veloster while other markets already see the new i30 with the N in the name. As the Hyundai brand expands the use of the N badge to the Elantra, potentially the Hyundai Sonata, and even into the SUVs such as the Kona and Tucson, we can be even more excited by what this team has in mind.

a Confirmed Dedicated Sports Car

The new N performance brand will have its own standalone sports car in the near future. This model will certainly strengthen what the brand offers and offer us an incredible level of fun on the road and at the track. Having Albert Biermann on board is a sure sign of performance that will be added to the models offered by this brand. As a former member of the M Performance Division at BMW, Biermann has already been the brains behind the Kia Stinger and is looking for a great way to add more performance to the Hyundai brand as well.

A Model that Could be Chosen

Earlier this year, Hyundai rolled out a mid-engine performance concept car called the RM16N. This car is one that reaches 295 horsepower and is built on a small and agile platform to make it a car that makes the most of the horsepower included. The question has been raised as to whether or not this car will become the one that will show up and be the performance model that we want to drive on the roads or take to the track. So far, we don’t know if this two-seater will make its way to production, but it’s certainly a possibility.

Another Possibility

The growing popularity of performance sedans in the market allows us to think that a sports car that’s more akin to the Kia Stinger might be the one that’s in the works. The Hyundai brand could easily use the same platform as the Stinger and create a car that has the ability to perform on the open road as a car that you can drive every day, but also be one that could head to the track for some fun when the time is right to let this car show off what it has to offer.

The Hyundai N Sports Car is Still a Few Years Away

Because of the indecisiveness and the lack of proof that any testing is currently being conducted, we’re not sure when the N sports car will make its debut. We might have to wait as long as until 2025, but if it shows up with the type of style and performance as the Kia Stinger, it’s going to be worth the wait. Hopefully, we’ll see a new sports car with the N badge on it in the near future and maybe it will be the mid-engine hot hatch production version of the RM16N.
