When you think of Elon Musk you might not think of a CEO that has a great sense of humor, but his history would certainly challenge that thought process. Not only has he appeared on different shows in television series, including “The Big Bang Theory,” Musk also has a strange way of looking at things that seem to give him a bit of joy when he thinks about how he wants to offer items to us the enjoyment of different events. Yes, the head of Tesla is a nerd and one that happens to have a bit of a dorky sense of humor. He wanted to name the three vehicles he currently offers from Tesla the Models S-E-X, even though he didn’t put them in that order. Add the next model, which will be the Model Y and you have S-E-X-Y, which is quite a bit of a nerdy humor that we can find fun. Even though another company took the Model E name, he used the Model 3 instead and when you take a look at that car the 3 looks a lot like the letter E.

Now that we can agree that Elon Musk, while one of the most successful and forward-thinking people in the world, is a bit of a funny dork, the next thing he’s doing shouldn’t come as a huge shock at all. As the CEO of not only Tesla but also Space X, he announced recently that he will send a Tesla Roadster up in the new Falcon Heavy rocket that is expected to travel to Mars and back.
He has shared a Twitter post which shows the Roaster mounted in the fashion you might find with a model airplane in the bedroom of a young child while the mannequin named Starman is sitting in the driver’s seat as the rocket prepares to launch into space. There’s no doubt, this view of the cargo bay of the rocket fulfills the promise that Elon Musk made to have the silliest thing possible in the rocket as it heads out of our atmosphere to make its way to and around Mars to let us see a rocket that is able to do more than ever before.
The Falcon Heavy rocket is expected to lift into orbit and head out for the 250-million mile journey to prove that we can make our way to Mars in the future. Many of us have heard Elon Musk talk about the possibility of putting a colony on Mars in the future and it seems with this launch that his vision is one step closer to becoming true.
