Starting the Year on the Right Foot

Every year we start the automotive show season in Detroit with the show that brings us new vehicles that we’ve anticipated throughout the year. This year was no different with the Detroit Auto Show bringing us a variety of excellent models to enjoy. While there were no major surprises to steal the show, this is where dozens of vehicles show up to be the production version of what we expect for the upcoming model year along with a few concepts that may influence the future of an automaker. Let’s take a look at some of the most impressive vehicles that made it to the show:

This is an SUV that brings you a feeling you’re looking for when you want connectivity of an in-car Wi-Fi system and the smartphone items you desire.

This will be the first model from this brand that will have Apple CarPlay and an adaptive suspension to make this flagship sedan one that appears to be more like a luxury model when you choose it for your drive.

Honda Insight – This show marks the return of the Insight to the Honda lineup to give us a car that’s been away for a few years. We know this car will have a 1.5-liter four-cylinder Atkinson cycle engine and a hybrid motor to give fuel mileage that arrives near 50 mpg. This could be the car that takes aim at the Prius once again to enter the hybrid market for our driving pleasure.

After a decade away from the North American market, the Ranger makes its way back to our roads to give us the choice we want in a truck of this size.

This car continues to appear to be a sporty hatchback with dynamic lines and an impressive stance. There will be three models offered, a standard, a middle model with a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine, and the new N performance model of this car.

Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen – While this new version that will hit the market for 2019 looks similar to the models of the past, this new version has lost nearly 400 pounds while maintaining the capability desired for this vehicle. This new version is a modern take on what we want when we drive while giving the look of a classic style that has been part of the G-Class for years.

Volkswagen Jetta – This car has been seriously improved when it comes to the style and appearance while also being upgraded underneath the skin.
